One man pleads guilty for helping kill and dismember a Fort Wayne resident

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - One of the men accused of helping kill and dismember a Fort Wayne resident back in April pleaded guilty Thursday.

Jacob Carreon-Hamilton, 20, pleaded guilty to assisting a criminal, abuse of a corpse, and resisting law enforcement.

The other suspect, 21-year-old Mathew Cramer II, is charged with murder, abuse of a corpse and resisting law enforcement.

The case focuses on the disappearance of Shane Nguyen, 55, and the later discovery of his remains.

Probable cause documents show that police recognized a van that was connected to Nguyen on April 25 around 5 a.m. and attempted to stop it before engaging in a short pursuit that ended in a crash.

Three people were taken into custody; one of them was later released.

Cramer and Carreon-Hamilton allegedly then dismembered the body and placed it back in the van.

Carreon-Hamilton’s sentencing is set for December 20, 2021, at 8:30 a.m.
