PFW cancels women’s basketball game at Ball State due to COVID-19 cases

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - COVID-19 cases have caused the Purdue Fort Wayne women’s basketball game against Ball State University to be called off.

The university posted that “the team is following all procedures and protocols implemented by Purdue University Fort Wayne, the Allen County Health Department and the Indiana State Department of Health.”

The school describe the situation as one involving “breakthrough cases.” Activity will resume according to guidelines established by the University and its athletic department, but the canceled game will not be rescheduled.

The Mastodons opened the season with a 102-35 win over Manchester University on Nov. 9.
