Kelly says good bye to Notre Dame football, says hello to future with LSU
NOTRE DAME, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - Former Notre Dame football head coach Brian Kelly spoke with the Fighting Irish players one last time on Tuesday morning, giving a farewell speech, before taking off to take his next position as the head coach of LSU football.
Kelly donned the podium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Wednesday, speaking his first words as the new leader of the Tigers.
Kelly said he loves the players at Notre Dame but that he was ready for a new challenge.
Meanwhile, the push for current Fighting Irish defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman to potentially be promoted to the team’s head coach continues to grow stronger, as glowing recommendations from former players flood Twitter.
