Focused on the Fork: Same City
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - It’s tough to miss the vibrancy, kindness and positivity emitted from the Same City food truck.
The Peruvian-style cuisine found at Same City is likely to leave you begging for more, with mouth-watering entrees like their pork belly sammich appropriately called “The Big Tasty” or the “Sweet Dee’s” Peruvian fried chicken.
What’s even more special about Same City is that it’s a program created by Just Neighbors Interfaith Homeless Network, which aims to engage and help all facets of the community.
“With same city we try and disrupt the social service system,” says Ryan Remington, Director of Partner Engagement with Just Neighbors.
“We do that by leaving our four walls and going out into the community. It allows us to advocate for those experiencing homelessness.”
With Same City, you decide what you can pay. The truck provides suggested amounts but if you’re light on cash, Same City will welcome you with a smile and a hot meal.
“We want to be extravagant in our generosity,” says Joshua Gale, Just Neighbors’ Executive Director.
“The unsheltered don’t live in tent, they live in your city. They share a common humanity with all of us and I think that brings a certain responsibility to do something in a way that recognizes their humanity.”

December 13th, 2021 - Free Clinic at Lifehouse Church - Forest Park Campus (2100 Kentucky Ave, Fort Wayne, IN 46805) from 4pm to 7pm.
December 18th, 2021 - Parkview Field for Fort Wayne’s Farmers Market (1301 Ewing St, Fort Wayne, IN 46802) from 9am to 1pm.
December 21st, 2021 - Serving with Common Ground Outreach (Location Withheld).
December 27th, 2021 - Free Clinic at Lifehouse Church - Forest Park Campus (2100 Kentucky Ave, Fort Wayne, IN 46805) from 4pm to 7pm.
