Coroner ID’s boy in Saturday death

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - The Allen County Coroner’s office has identified the 9-year-old boy, who died early Saturday morning, as Elijah Thomas Ross, from Fort Wayne.

Preliminary autopsy results showed multiple blunt force injuries, the coroner’s office said in a statement Tuesday. The cause and manner of Ross’ death is pending further investigation and testing, the statement said.

Ross was taken by his mother and her spouse to Lutheran Downtown Hospital where life-saving measures were unsuccessful, the coroner’s office said.
