Police investigate attempted murder-suicide in Marion

MARION, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - The Marion Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened Tuesday at the Prestwick Square Apartments just after 10 a.m.

Police say Taleysa Sanders, 47, was shot in the arm and abdomen and taken to Marion Health. Sanders was later transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Gary Pettiford, 59, died of suicide.

Sanders’ two grandsons were present at the time of the shooting but not injured, police said.
