City warns of imposter claiming to call about ‘garbage collection concerns’

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - City officials believe someone is making calls to residents, claiming -- fraudulently -- that he represents the Fort Wayne 311 call center and is contacting them regarding “garbage collection concerns.”
A spokesperson from the City says the caller has used inappropriate language and is not affiliated in any way with the local government. They advise that anyone receiving such a call hang up and ignore it.
While the staff at the 311 center is accepting incoming calls related to trash and recycling pick-up matters, they are not making randomized calls to the community.
