FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - Purdue Fort Wayne will end the requirement for face masks to be worn on campus beginning Monday, March 21, 2022. Face masks will continue to be optional for anyone that chooses to wear one, the university said Thursday.

The decision was based on the recommendation of the PFW Ready Committee with full support of university leadership, a statement said. Last month, the university had relaxed face mask requirements on campus with the promise to review the protocol after spring break.

On Friday, March 18, the university will also discontinue the weekly PFW Ready question and answer sessions and the online COVID-19 data dashboard. The PFW Ready Committee will phase out after their April 6 meeting.

The university said they will continue with the COVID-19 point of contact and maintain the PFW Ready website through the summer.
