TinCaps split doubleheader at Dayton

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - The Fort Wayne TinCaps split their doubleheader at Dayton after game two of the series was postponed due to rain Saturday.

In game one, the ‘Caps received immediate offense from Robert Hassell, who launched a solo shot to give Fort Wayne an early one run lead. The number two prospect in the Padres organization finished with two hits and three RBI.

Meanwhile, Jousha Mears was outstanding in his own right, blasting two home runs in the TinCaps, 13-2, victory over the Dragons.

Fort Wayne’s bats didn’t stay hot in the second contest, as the TinCaps recorded one run off a wild pitch.

Fort Wayne would fall 5-1 in the second game of the doubleheader.

The TinCaps will travel home for their home opener versus the South Bend Cubs April 12, Tuesday.
