STATE BOUND: Eastside tops North Newton, advancing to Class 2A state finals

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - The Eastside Blazers are heading to the Class 2A state finals after taking down North Newton, 5-3, in Saturday’s semi-state championship game.
Eastside’s victory marked the first time the program captured a semi-state title since 1998. The Blazers started Saturday off by defeating Madison-Grant, 5-3, in their semi-state semifinal clash.
Eastside (28-1) is set to battle with North Posey (24-1) next Saturday at Purdue University’s Bittinger Stadium in West Lafayette.
