Coroner rules toddler death as county’s 49th homicide for 2021

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - The Allen County Coroner’s office has ruled the October 2021 death of a 1-year-old a homicide.

The coroner’s office says on October 14, 2021, around 3 p.m., Savannah Rose Brown was found unresponsive in a home in the 8300 block of Newfield Drive. Savannah was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Testing from an autopsy showed that Savannah’s cause of death was fentanyl toxicity. Savannah’s death has been ruled a homicide by the coroner’s office. Savannah is the 49th homicide in Allen County for 2021.

Savannah’s death remains under investigation.
