Fort Wayne native Kim Moore wins inaugural U.S. Adaptive Open, convincingly

PINEHURST, N.C. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - Fort Wayne native and current Western Michigan women’s golf coach Kim Moore shined on the national stage, winning the inuagural U.S. Adaptive Open by eight strokes at Pinehurst.

Moore holds an award named after her by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association, the Kim Moore Spirit Award, which is given to a student-athlete who shows spirit, mental toughness and a positive attitude.

The Bishop Dwenger grad was born without a right foot and a clubbed left foot but persevered to golf at the University of Indianapolis before becoming a PGA teaching pro.
