FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - The heat and humidity will hang around for one more day, but those two things combined with a cold front that’s expected to come through on Monday evening means we could be dealing with some thunderstorms.

Sunday evening, one or two very isolated rain showers is possible, but most will stay dry. Temperatures will hangout in the low 80s/upper 70s until about sunset.

When you wake up on Monday morning, temperatures will be in the upper 60s.

Here’s where the trickiness with this forecast comes in. Some weather models say we’ll see some rain showers and thunderstorms on Monday morning, others do not. The First Alert weather team believes Monday morning will be mostly dry. If that’s the case, then afternoon and evening thunderstorms are more likely, with severe storms possible to the west of I-69.

If it does rain on Monday morning and clouds linger into the lunch hours, that means it’s less likely we will see stronger thunderstorms on Monday evening.

Regardless, high temperatures are expected to climb into the upper 80s, once again, with feels like temperatures in the 90s.

Rain and storm chances will linger into Tuesday morning, then clouds will start to move out of the area and we’ll see mostly clear sky on Tuesday evening. That trend continues for the work week and temperatures will drop down into the 70s for the highs through about Friday.
