FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - It looks like the summer heat is gone for the year and only a few more days left with highs in the 70s. This week we’ll see a couple of those, but some chilly morning temperatures.

Sunday evening, temperatures will drop quickly after sunset into the 50s. Thanks to the lack of cloud cover and calm winds overnight, we can expect temperatures to drop down into the upper 30s on Monday morning.

To kick off the work week, we’ll see plenty of sunshine as afternoon highs reach the upper 60s. That’s going to be the case for both Monday and Tuesday.

Wednesday sees afternoon temperatures in the low 70s with a bit more cloud cover.

Thursday is when we’re tracking a cold front to move through, bringing our next chance for some rain showers. However, the rain chance is NOT a slam dunk. What is a sure thing, though, is MUCH cooler air on the backside of the front.

Afternoon high temperatures on Friday and into the weekend will struggle to get out of the 50s, and morning lows on Saturday and Sunday will be in the low-to-mid 30s. So, we could experience our first frost of the year by next weekend.
