Julian Teekaram

Julian Teekaram is an Emmy-nominated anchor and reporter. She co-anchored Fort Wayne's NBC News at 5, 6 and 11.

Julian joined WPTA in 2016, following several years at WLIO-TV in Lima, Ohio. She holds a degree in telecommunications and journalism from Ball State University.

Throughout her career, Julian has had the privilege of covering major events and people including campaign visits from former presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump. She also went "live" from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during a special "Today" show broadcast, interviewing NBC personalities Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker and Tom Llamas.

Julian is a Fort Wayne native and is thrilled to be delivering the news in her hometown. A graduate of Concordia Lutheran High School, she loves sharing her story-telling experiences with students from area schools.

Julian plays an active role in the community, often spending her time and lending her voice to different causes and organizations. She's been a big supporter of Humane Fort Wayne and hosts the shelter's annual "Pawject Runway" fundraiser. In fact, it was Julian's idea to start "Forever Home Friday" on the morning show, a weekly segment featuring adoptable dogs from the shelter.

Julian is also passionate about the work being done at the Fort Wayne Sexual Assault Treatment center. Every year, she hosts "Warm and Cozy," the only fundraiser benefiting the organization.

In her spare time, Julian loves spending time with her family and friends and her two rescue dogs Ozzy and Chewie.
