Allen County under Travel Advisory

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - A Winter Weather Travel Advisory has been issued for Allen County, the Director of Homeland Security said Thursday. Rain is expected to turn into freezing rain, then sleet and snow beginning around 5 p.m., during the evening commute, a statement from the department said.
Aerial flooding has occurred in low lying areas and across many rural roadways, the director said. Drivers are urged to use caution and to not drive into flooded roadways. Residents are also urged to stay away from the rivers that are expected to crest sometime this weekend, a release said. River flow is stronger and faster during flood events, the director said.
